The CSU has transformed academic preparation in an effort to provide all first-time freshman the opportunity and support needed to be successful in college-level coursework. This website provides guidance on assessment of English and math skills, placement in General Education (GE) English and math/quantitative reasoning courses and the Early Start Program. Click Here
Student Affairs & Enrollment Management (SAEM) provides leadership, coordination and technical assistance to the CSU’s 23 campuses with strategic enrollment management and a broad range of student development activities, programs and services across the student life cycle, from college aspiration to graduation. These are designed to enhance the cocurricular experience, support students’ academic goals and personal aspirations, and close the educational equity gap.
As you get ready to apply to the CSU, you may find that a campus or undergraduate major you're considering is "impacted," meaning there are more applications from qualified applicants than there are available spaces. If you're interested in an impacted major or campus, be sure to apply for admission during the initial filing period, October 1 to November 30.
Go to www.calstate.edu/SAS/impactioninfo.shtml for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
